The Snooker Thread (Part 1)

No one has ever doubted his quality. But there is an awful sinister element to the cunt and his over compensating as the nice guy all the time doesn’t fool me.

She’s a cracker. Ronnie has a nice bird for a head case

The best ever.

Hon The Wishaw Wizard.

As well as his four world titles, John has lost 20 times at the Crucible and after every one of those defeats has behaved with class and dignity

His reaction after his surprise defeat to Alan McManus in the first round in 1995 after he had had a superb debut season told you all need to know

He said there would be other days and it would prove a learning experience for him

How right he was

The mark of a real champion

He didn’t behave with much class and dignity after his second round loss to Steve Davis in 2010. He took himself off to Kiev the day after that defeat where he earned a very lenient six month ban for disgracing the sport.

I see Higgins was whinging about the tried, tested and successful Crucible scheduling formula of the last 40 years yesterday. Apparently it doesn’t give him enough time to eat. Judd Trump had the good sense to distance himself from Higgins whingeing.

Some pot by Trump to win that frame.

Higgins appears to be finding plenty time for meals these days

Just sitting down to watch it now for the night. Haven’t seen any of it so far.

Missed the first session myself. Trump has been a bit jumpy over the first two frames on the second session but he’s upped it now. Played an outrageous pot to win the last frame and has made another fanstastic break here. 6-5 to Trump

What an entertainer Judd is! Brilliant 135 break there.

Is he overdoing that exhibition stuff at times?

Great final.

Six centuries in eleven frames.

It’s outrageous stuff so far.

Judd wins a scrapper 12th frame on the pink for a 7-5 mid-session lead.

First messy frame of the session there. Big win for Trump. He’s 7-5 up

Higgins beginning to fold.

Trump on course to make it 8-5 here. Putting some daylight between himself and Higgins now.

Superb snooker here.

Fourth frame on the bounce for Judd with a 118 break (16 reds and colours) for an 8-5 lead. He’s really motoring now.
