An hour long 14th frame which the Darling of Dublin won on the black looks to have broken Maguire’s spirit. Loses the next one in double quick time to trail 7-8.

Maguire levels at 8-8 to stop the rot.

This is a proper Crucible nail bitter.

Maguire going 9-8 up with possibly a century incoming as well. Finding his form after been completely out of sorts up until the last frame really.

Great ebb and flow to this.

Maguire after running out of position over cuts a red to the top corner. He’s 62 ahead but 75 on the table.

Beauty of a long pot from Maguire which should seal it.

61 ahead 59 remaining.

He showed great resolve to win that from 8-7 down.

Shaun Murphy’s defeat puts the seal on a disastrous few months for Dublin sport.

He’ll be kicking himself for missing that easy shot with the rest when he had a great chance of landing the one snooker he needed to give him a chance of forcing a deciding frame.

Commentator’s eye

He did because he played poorly most of the match, even when he was 6-2 ahead. Maguire a very talented player but has always seemed to struggle with the mental side of things.

Allen. Robertson, Bingham all playing today. Shocks unlikely.

have missed all the snooker so far which is probably not a bad thing as i probably would have backed the chap playing mcgill!

Five in a row for Robbo to lead 6-3. Allen leads 5-4 against Donaldson who can be dogged enough.

Robbo was sublime
