Locals offering us AKs for 50 US dollars in Victoria Romania 
in 1993 , crazy , whilst delivering aid( dodgy to a group of Derrymen and one Corkman)
Obviously declined but the place was awash with small arms
( included in our group were 3 ex lifers and 4 other ex republican prisoners, so twas like offering sweets to a diabetic 
That was a bargain. For every 2 AKs you buy one will always be dodge no matter what you pay

Yes I was all over the country 5/6 time’s a year sometimes, second wife was Romanian, we were based mostly in Fagsras, Brasov, Iasi ,Iasi had 4 AIDS / Tb clinics, we delivered regularly to a local gypsy village but tbh you couldn’t sort it, we never had enough

Shithole down south, Constsnta is mafia driven, as is Iasi , Sibiu, Sebes , Brasov etc all Transylvanian cities are full of proud decent Romanians, in my day I drank in and with gypsys in their bars alone , never a bit of hassle, treat others with respect and it comes back
