he captured the mood so well. I remember that awful day so well, one of the few times in your life when you can still remember exactly what you were doing when the news came through like 9/11
My mum was walking down o connell street in limerick with me in the buggy. She said the whole place came to a stop for it. The eyes of the world wept for princess diana.
I donāt get the Elton John love in. A couple of decent songs maybe.
A couple of years ago I went along to Reginaldās gig in the 3 Arena with herself, who is a big Elton fan.
I hugely enjoyed the gig. A lot of excellent songs, and a great show man.
But heās undoubtedly a cunt. He played again last year in the same venue with the headline of it being his last Irish gig. 180 quid a ticket later he announces that it wonāt in fact be his last gig, heāll play the following night. That then became another gig six months later, and then another gig a year later.
The guy is rotten with wealth so youād wonder why he needs to be such a cunt.
And Tiny Dancer is a truly brilliant song.
I think Iāve said it here before that one of the great tragedies in popular music is that Sir Elton John is such a geebag
Yeah I tend to agree. Does nothing for me.
Apparently he was responsible for 10% of all record sales in the UK at one point.
I like some of his songs. Enjoyed the film. Reckon heās a decent sort at heart, just crawled up himself too far and couldnāt find his way out.
Is the film worth watching?
Maybe Iām wrong but I donāt think he wrote any tunes. Bit like Elvis.
Bernie whatshisname did the writing, EJ did the tunes
I thought it better than the queen film. Iād say yes. Reggie did some amount of riding and of drugs. Heās not a happy soul really. Over sensitive, and over compensates Iād say as an armchair analysis. I would defo recommend it though.
I think some of his songs are quite beautiful.
The one, and donāt let the sun go down are my two favourites.
Yes. Itās a super movie.
Itās very good.
RIP.
