What are we looking at here?

Water butt. 100 litres.

What you gonna use it for?
Just for watering the garden?

Water for gardening and other jobs around the place (washing the yard etc). The fucking thing nearly filled up in one night of rain!

Hook it up to the drain pipe job is it?

'Tis. Easy enough to do, although the Aldi one may be suited more to a round drainpipe than square one (which I have). There’s better and bigger ones out there but this will do us fine for moment.

€28.99. Woodies have more or less the same thing for 40.

No bother. I need to look at fittings/ connectors etc. next to put a hose on it as well.

You can also get a connection kit and link two water butts together from what I can tell

Indeed.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that job is far from oxo.

That twist connector on the barrel will leak top tail and middle. You’ll need to silicon it in properly.

The tank Infeed needs to be level or slightly above the pipe outfeed for it to work. Yours looks lower so the barrel will overflow.

Sort it now before the barrel fills up. Then it will be a pain in the hole.

Good man. Will do.

The hose is level alright.
