The Thread that was once about GAA Betting in 2015

Handy money.

Have gone for Harnedy over 3.5 @5/4

Horgan over 10.5 @10/11

Donnellan under 2.5 @11/10

I’ve gone Canning over 11.5.

3/4 with the Galway footballers to come. Fuck you @maroonandwhite

In my blind optimism I also think Galway will beat Donegal outright

Lacey is out for Donegal.

I’ve backed Clare -6 at 3/1 in the U21 hurling tonight. I think they’ll destroy Limerick.

I think the handicap in the Tyrone game could be way off @ 8 points. I’ve taken Sligo +5 at 2-1

I hope you lost loads of money.

Why?

I don’t really I just got carried away. Soz.

A lovely post. Apology accepted.

Hard luck.

Unconfirmed reports Michael Murphy out of game this weekend.
However Galway odds are lengthening

If Murphy is gone today then I don’t think Donegal will miss him too much from general play. In three of Donegal’s four Championship games he has been kept well under wraps with the Armagh game the only one where he was able to exert considerable influence. The big issue in his absence is his frees, after Sheehan he is the best in the business and anything within 60 yards is in his range. Can’t really think of who will step up and hit them off the left if he’s gone, the likes of McBrearty, McFadden and MacNiallais are all left footed. Hugh McFadden took them for the u21s this year so but did so with mixed success, so possibly him or Toye if McFadden is the choice to be drafted in.

At the minute it’s tough to see Donegal beating Mayo on the basis of the past few performances (should they get past Galway), Mayo steamrolling teams and Donegal looking like they are a team who are physically drained and they will need Murphy at as close to full fitness as he can be for it so I think Gallagher may have taken the correct option if he has any doubts over him, should the reports be true.

Devenney is a bit of a motor mouth but I’m sure he also has some insight close to the camp.

The handicap in the Tyrone game is a little wide for me, I feel we’ll run out comfortable winners in the end but we’re not the type of team who will hammer the lesser teams. We’re more a team who will make hard work of the smaller teams and really put it up to the big ones. Going by the pattern this season in the qualifier games, our first half performances haven’t been great but our second half ones have been a lot better. We were trailing Meath by 2 at half time having had the wind in the first half, we won the game by 2 points. We were leading Tipp by 1 point at half time having had the wind in the first half and ended up winning by 12. We were also only 2 or 3 up on Limerick at half time before running out 9 point winners.

I think Croke Park very much suits Tyrone and our style of football so I envisage another second half performance similar to the Tipp game.

Did 2 11/1 bets there on the football.

  1. Tyrone -7, Kerry-6, Donegal, Fermanagh +14.
  2. Under 33.5, under 38.5, over 29.5 over36.5 on the same games.

Will Mcfadden be on the frees? 5/6 over 1.5 points with betfair.

Gaa Accum.

Donegal v Galway - No goals 4/1
Bride Rovers 7/4
Mullinahone 1/2
Knockainey 4/6
Ballymartle 4/11

Works out at 46/1

Have gone for Tyrone -5 at 1/2 and Tyrone to score more than 20.5 points at 5/6 here. Tipperary are a better side than Sligo and Tyrone went through them with relative ease

Mullinahone missing a lot, could be dodgy

*Informative

Kelly anyway, Cathal Horan and Eoin Fennelly former Tipp minors gone to America on j1. Few more missing too I think
