Strategic one English motm 14/1. If he holds MacDonald we will win. The lads will be watching MacDonald as he’s the only fella they know so they’ll be very impressed if he’s marked out of it.
Great odds on Tipp in Minor final. The 4.33 to win is very tempting. But even 2.2 at +3 is good value. They have clearly improved and have more players available than the last game. They also are now a far more imposing team and while this is a very well coached kerry team they are not vintage.
Expect it to be close at the least
59.38 returned today means a pure profit of 59.71 for the season on my experiment.
In conclusion, it was probably not worth it as I was backing shit for the sake of it with free fivers.
ouch
ouch
This was nearly as wrong as I was about Wexford U21’s
@myboyblue I see Clough/Ballacolla are favourites next Sunday. I thought Camross have beaten them at least once this year and generally beat them? What’s the story here?
Clough Ballacolla won’t be beaten this year. They suffer from generally having so many wrapped up with Laois and the lack of time to prepare then when Cship comes around. This was most obvious in Rd 1 when Camross who only have 2 involved with Laois were more cohesive. But CB are on a mission this year. Laois’ only All Ireland was in 1915 and it was Ballygeehan who represented Laois on that occasion. Ballygeehan went onto make up the CB club and they are hell bent on winning this one 100 years on. Camross are divils and in Zane and Palmer have two serious performers. They generally somehow manage to make themselves more than the sum of their parts and will be tough and physical but having beaten Rathdowney Errill and Borris Kilcotton, combined with Picky coming back to full fitness and the form of the two Willies Dunphy and Hyland it’s hard to see CB bet in this one.
Turns out I have one free fiver left after Dublin won on Sunday. Anyone care to give me a few club bets this weekend to use it on?
You’d proba ly get decent odds on skibb to win in Cork both the semi final and outright. Of the 4 left they are the lowest fancied but are a very good side in good form and little to no county player involvement. Nemo, Haven & Carey Rangers all have injury issues.
Cork were knocked out of the football on July 25th, intercounty involvement is hardly a factor?
Mountbellew to beat Salthill in Galway at 4/5 is worth inclusion
It is in Cork.
Castle haven have dual players who play hurling with different clubs, it’s quite disruptive.
Skibb are the only team playing together every game all year. That’s a huge help.
Bonus. I’ve gone for an accumulator:
Cork
Tullamore (could be iffy, best player Paul McConway out with injury)
Rhode
Mountbellew (completely blind on this one)
Tullamore
Thurles
Clough/Ballacolla (not convinced on this as Camross their bogey team but MBB says they’ll do it)
Portlaoise
Bennetsbridge
De La Salle
Sarsfields
My free five euro bet will bring me winnings of €211
Or zero
Mac 3 good bets in cork.
A couple of replays which are set up for the teams who were out of practice to win.
Eire Og are 1.91 to beat Carrigaline. Carrog were lucky to get a draw and Eire Og had not played with a long time and played below par. Carrog have lost a significant player, Eire Og have picked one up. Banker for me.
Cill Na Matra to beat Kanturk is 2.0. CNM had not played in 3 months and fermoy were way busier. CNM came from behind to draw and played very poorly for 45 mins. I fancied them for this championship all year. They will win this.
The double of that is 3.8. I’ll be doing all 3 bets.
Also Aghada are 2.6 to win senior relegation final. Cannot understand these odds. Aghada have won a few games and are young and hungry to maintain their status. Clon have massive issues and the manager has been playing himself and his brother, both over 40. They got destroyed in the hurling g recently and there was a bit of fall out. Less sure of this one than the others, but decent odds.
It was always a long shot. I knew this bet was in trouble when I heard this morning that Shane Dooley was at his sister’s wedding in Spain so missing for Tullamore today as well as McConway.
Cork won
Tullamore hammered
Rhode won
Mountbellew won
Thurles won
Clough/Ballacolla won (good call @myboyblue and kudos to Kevin Martin manager who has now managed winners in both of the midlands hurling powerhouses)
Portlaoise won
Bennettsbridge won
De La Salle won
Sarsfields drew
Glad sarsfields didn’t win as it would have been very embarrassing if Tullamore losing had cost me €200
Shame on Joe Dooley for allowing his daughter arrange a wedding in the middle of Championship season.
Black sheep of the family I’d say
Fuck it, it’s the Biffo way. They do their own thing. There’s more to life than bollockising away training/laps/drills and has been their mantra for eons. True Gaels in Offaly, life is for living and all that…
If he was any good he’d have sent him back to Seir Kieran anyway.
