The Tipp Are Back All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2025

No real mention of players taking 8-10 steps followed by a throw. Sort that and it will make a huge difference. Gaelic football has really focused in on steps and turnovers are up because of it.

Need to police the spare arm tackle in that case.

100% agree but spare arm tackling is a bi product of steps

Or vice versa.

If players only took 4 steps then there would be little or no spare arms. Obviously harder to control in rucks.

English is spot on with most of this, to be fair. The dissent/delay/misconduct rules have to come into hurling next year. They have revolutionised football by penalising indiscipline in the best way possible - on the scoreboard.

Tipp journo trying to prevent all criticism of a ref before they get handed a win by one against us next week. The fix clearly in. You’ve been rumbled mate

Not meaning to drag it up again but Nicky has also repeated the mistaken belief that there was only one minute of injury time allowed in the first half of Extra time, I think it was over 3 and a half mins
The throw in is pure silly at this stage

Over-carrying and throwing is so out of control at this point that everything else is minor by comparison

The overcarrying is a by-product of the tackle not being codified

Refs allowing steps when there’s contact

The Shane O’Donnell rule

The tackle is codified. Technically you can only tackle with a shoulder to shoulder.

Tipp articles appearing on rules the week they play Galway . We’ve seen this dance too many times

True. But that bears no reality to the game we watch.

Id like to see a physical tackle codified. I’m also not sure them shoulder to shoulder challenges are that safe anymore. Ok if you line a fella up perfect but if you don’t you could do serious damage

Will O Donoghue revolutionised the tackle in hurling

When will they announce venues for next weekend?

Need to wait for the football to be done today.

Dublin will be at home in their preliminary football quarter final and, if the Limerick footballers win today, I wouldn’t rule out a triple-header in Croke Park next weekend.

My man on the ground in Thurles was saying last night that Tipp v Galway will be in Limerick on Sunday.

A Dublin double header in Croker Saturday and Galway Footballers to play Saturday.

Galway Hurlers/Footballers cant play on same day and stewards an issue in Limerick on Saturday.
