Hatful of Hallow … A compilation. Some great versions on there.

Oh it’s a cracker.

Handsome Devil being one of my recent favourites.

Listening to the track Brothers in Arms here…

I recall that album was once the biggest selling CD of all time and launched the CD market.

Listening to this now. Probably the most valuable record in my collection. Goes for up to €600. Apparently they destroyed the master tapes before they released it so there will never be a proper repress. Volume 1 also fetches a tidy sum.

Record fair next Sunday 21st - in the Marina market.

Had a good root around the record fair… Weather held a few sellers from attending so it wasn’t great. The only bargain was this, in mint condition.

There’s rarely bargains at the fairs. The dealers usually sell off the Record Collector book (although this is probably moving closer to the Discogs price now). But you’ll find stuff there that you might not get elsewhere. My first one was at the Imperial in Cork over 20 years ago where I picked up the Whipping Boy blue vinyl. It was worth a nice bit of money until they repressed Heartworm a few years ago

The kind of record you’d have strategically placed

Brilliant stuff. Only have it on a double CD. One of his best.

Picked it up in Tower today. My older lad turned 15 and just wanted some DVDs for his birthday. For once he took my recommendation and we left with Training Day, The Untouchables and Withnail and I. He also chose Naked for himself and I picked up Twenty Four Hour Party People. We had lunch in Maneki - Japanese place across the road and headed home. A grand ol day just the two of us as his mother and brother are away. Hard believe we’ll be doing it with pints in no time.

That’s the job. Is that the fella with the big DVD collection?
