The War Films Thread

The Tomorrow War may well be the greatest film ever made, ever.

It’s no ‘Edge of Tomorrow’

Have you seen Bridge on the River Kwai?

I have it saved to my favourites here but I’m not inclined to because of the weather atm

RtE 1 now. Bridge on the River Kwai.

Given up on Thurles?

Not just yet but it’s not looking great.

Ye need a Limerickesque second half performance

Where can you watch that

Or a Tipp like collapse from Waterford

I’ve heard of this movie before, Belarusian I think, supposedly one of the greatest war movies of all time.

I’d also be interested in knowing where you can watch it.

Is this a ballhop or something? Is it on YouTube red? That link works for me

That’s a truly great film. Not to be missed or forgotten

Not quite a western or a war movie… But The Alamo is on Paramount here.

Not quite a war film. They died with their boots on on TCM their about Custer Last Stand. Very un pc.

War films week in TCM this week. Kelly’s Heroes and the Battle of the Bulge the pick of the bunch.

Visited the site of the first Dam Buster attack - the Mohne Dam this morning. It’s just like it was in the movie. Must have been incredible flying and accuracy to hit it. Was rebuilt within 6 months with slave labour. Incredible to be able to touch history. 1600 Germans were literally washed away that night.

I won’t lie but I had trouble finding it. It’s the Mohne Sperrmauer if any of you are ever in the locality. I nearly gave up in frustration but thankfully I stuck to me task.
