I heard that they were giving Donegal supporters loads of it after the quarter win along the lines of the natural order being restored and that Donegalâs victory was a fluke.
The sister-in-law and brother in law are back from Oz for a few weeks. Heâs from Mayo and some of his family were coming down recently so my good ladyâs family were discussing preparations.
The mam: Whatâll we feed them?
Mrs J: Ham. Country people love ham.
The Mam: Really? We could do salads.
The sister: No they donât eat fancy stuff.
Mrs J: Nearly every country lad in college was a meat and two veg man. They love ham. They even slag themselves for how much they love it.

The only lad I ever hit a lad square in the jaw was a Mayo fan. I shouldnât have bothered with him but he tried to claim that Galway hurlers were bigger chokers than Mayo footballers and after a feed of Carlton Cold I just couldnât stand for it.
