The Weather Thread

Just saw it, fantastic news.

Still haven’t gottena fucking reply from my lecturer about my essay though.
Bandon’s supposed to be completely fucked. Not sure about the main roads, I’d avoid country roads as much as possible though.

Also, Bandon’s a hole at the best of times.
And what do we call a hole filled with water?

Kinky?

New Orleans?

Ah make your mind up Julio

I was guessing at your question Flano. I love a good quiz

A spring tide in November? That is serious. Heard on the radio this morning that the floods were the worst in living memory. But they say that every time there’s a flood.

Thats because all the memories got washed away in the last flood

Hows NCW getting on this time around Runt?
Enniscorthy’s in floods and ol’ Wexford is gone, and not a hope of the Barrow I’ll cross.

Looks like I won’t get home this weekend. Bridge in Enniscorthy is flooded, and the back road through Ferns ain’t looking good either.
new ross i hear was meant to be bad this morning too… and wellingtonbridge to ballymitty was flooded last nite

Great stuff-hopefully that entire area will go under or float away.
Keep us updated.

I want to go to Wexford this evening.

This could be even more serious than the one in 1992.

Lets pray that Puke and Lohan made it to high ground.

DEFENCE Forces personnel have been called in to sandbag up to 30 homes in Clonlara, where two homes have already been evacuated, while the Shannon in Castleconnell and Montpelier is perilously high this Sunday, with more flooding now expected by local authorities monitoring water levels and rainfall.
The ESB in Ardnacrusha have been releasing water down the Shannon since Saturday morning to prevent severe flooding upriver. But the huge volumes of water coming from the Upper Shannon system mean they have a delicate balancing act in controlling the release and keeping it below the flood defence levels in Montpelier, O’Brien’s Bridge, Castleconnell, Parteen and Limerick City.

The Army and units of the Fire Service from Kilaloe have been at Springfield, Clonlara since midnight, where up to 30 homes are being sandbagged. There are reports of widespread flooding of farms in the Clonlara area. Local residents who are concerned will be able to collect
additional sandbags at Clonlara Golf Club from 3.30pm.

Has anyone heard from Puke recently? I just hope Tricia is safe too.

I was just down the fields there doing a bit of work and got absolutely saturated. Terribly, terribly damp out there now this evening…

It is damp, if you don’t believe me look out the window…

I know it’s fucking damp, I also reckon that you were no more down the fields than the man in the moon. Your slip on brouges would have got destroyed.

I can assure you i was down the fields this evening going at it hell for leather, minus the brogues…
