The army have deployed 50 personnel around the country and have 1,500 on standby
Maybe they should have deployed a few more

How many are posted to the aforementioned areas?
Im expecting the iodine tablets through the letter box any minute
absolute farce
We 're fucked now. With the 50 troops gone, we’re leaving ourselves wide open. ISIS lads arriving by the plane load. Tom Semples field will be all thats left of Thurles tomorrow
The rest of them are probably on holidays
Could do with a few army lads in this house outside Kinvara tonight to keep the battle going…
Holy fuck. Whereabouts is that in kinvara?
About 3 miles up the gort road in Kinvara on the Northampton road. The scary thing about this is that that house is actually built on a hill. There must be nearly 30 foot of water on the road in front of it.
What the fuck?
I know that road well. Are you affected yourself?
This wan on RTE news is irritating.
The army being sent into Clonlara tonight.
No thankfully.
Leafy Kinvara pal.
KP - how close are these areas to the new motorway? I did some work in Tipp back in the mid-00s and saw irreparable damage to drainage (storm and foul) around houses due to motorway construction creating hydraulic constraints to natural flow paths. Even groundwater was badly impacted by the construction compacting the ground and making it fairly impermeable.
@ironmoth, it is probably having some impact alright. Hard to gauge. Interestingly a section of the motorway between gort and kilcolgan is under water so I reckon they may have to revisit the levels here… that said the motorway is only at early construction phase.
This guy has done trojan work the past few weeks…
My mother went to school in Northampton. I used get awful confused in my younger days with how they managed to go to school in England from Galway.
The one in England was named after the one in kinvara
Are they deploying umbrellas or what?
