Ziggy as a character grows on me a bit every time I watch season 2. I thought he was an awful stuke the first time i watched it. Not easy to grow up in the shadow of Frank Sobotka

The guy who plays Ziggy is a fantastic actor and has been brilliant in HBO stuff since, think he was a smackhead in real life.

Iām really looking forward to S2. Itās the one in a sense that I remember the least, but remember really enjoying.
I canāt believe I waited 12 years for the full rewatch. 7 episodes in. Itās a truly phenomenal show.

Itās not as good as The Sorpranos though. In my view.
I am on season four at moment first time rewatching in over a decade. I rewatched sopranos back around April. The wire has aged better and is overall a superior show. Tbh itās like picking a favorite child though

When you really get into it the sopranos is too make believe. Itās still very good but itās a bit ridiculous really.
The things that are part of the story the first time round like Tonyās wife and family life and his therapy seasons are fast forward central in a rewatch.
With the Wire thereās no fast forwarding any thread, although I may do so with the paper angle in S5

I didnāt enjoy season 5 of the wire but I like the realism in the early seasons.
Thatās more like asking me to a pick a favorite child tbh
