The Wire

Mayor thatā€™s a good strong dick you got there and I see you know how to use it.

Brilliant show. Will go down as a classic.

That scene with Bunk and McNulty reviewing a shut case scene was suuperb television. And the Police interviews were priceless.

Very hard for the majority of people to stitch the show together here. But most of us that stick through it realise the masterpiece it is

Itā€™s amazing how quick time has passed, wire Taps on pay phones, beepers etc. Seems ancient history now. I mentioned this before but the first station outside the US to buy the rights to the show? TG4.

Fuck it Iā€™m gonna go back and watch seasons 2-5

I remember first watching season 3 on TG4 alright. It was on ridicliously late of a Thursday night. Mid 00ā€™s.

The bit of violence kept me interested as it was a slow enough burner initially.

I watched it then on TG4 too, I used to finish work late and watch it. I remember boring people endlessly about how great it was and that they should all be watching it

Did TG4 have Breaking Bad as well before it went mainstream? Anyway The Wire season 2 is the best for me. I canā€™t remember if itā€™s that season but the scene where all the kids/dealers scatter when Omar is arriving to clear house ā€˜Omarā€™s coming yoā€™

That was amazing. Iā€™ve watched it back occasionally, american prison dynamics are fascinating.

But there ainā€™t nothinā€™ you fear more than a bad headline, is there? Youā€™d rather live in shit than let the world see you work a shovel

Great line from Daniels

Does Bang still have it? I dipped into a couple of random episodes a few years ago when he had it but surely due a rewatch end to end 10 years after my last one

During the week, I was telling a bunch of young people (late teens/ early twenties) whoā€™ve discovered The Wire and other greats lately that it was TG4 that brought a lot of the great HBO shows to our screens - The Wire, Curb, Oz, etc.

Breaking Bad too

I often think I should watch it back again but Iā€™d say it hasnā€™t aged well

It got a bit too freaky for my liking in the end. The son creeped me out.

I never quite saw the point of the Brother Mouzone character. Seemed a bit at odds with the show.

I canā€™t get any streams for it on the cinema app anymore
