Things I learned today (Part 1)

Problem with most popular media is it is dumbed down on basis people are expected to have short attention spans and there are loads of spoofers

I think if you get experts with a passion and a knowledge about a subject talking about it then it is really entertaining and informative - that history show is like that but I would include Gary Neville/Jamie Carragher football punditry and some of the better Off the Ball guests - often US sports journalists talking about historical sports figures. They had a good one recently about the boxer from Cuba - Teofilo Stevenson and contrasting him with Rigondeaux with Brin Jonathan Butler who has made a documentary about Rigondeaux.

Dan Carlins’ hardcore history podcast is well worth a listen if history is your thing.

That Stevenson bit was excellent radio.

I was gonna take the piss on the basis that you’d be capitalising the house but then realized that the builder would be selling the house and the cost would infact hit the p and l.

Cut my losses then.

A bottle of Club Orange has nearly twice as much sugar as a bottle of Lucozade (per ml).

Some lad on the examiner talked about meeting Brian Kerr over there and discussing GAA.

He was lying then, pal.

Carkies will believe anything they read in ‘De Paper’

Teofilo is a horse pal.

Named after…

Cheesestrings are still on the market

How could @chewy louie think Beglin was co-commentating from Brazil with lead commentators Alkin, Eames and Kenny all in Dublin? Sickened by this.
