A Leinster Rugby Player ate his dog :o
Sounds a bit wishy-washy alright.
Our own club was the first in Limerick to do the Feile Double, i.e. qualify for the hurling & football in the same year.
Off the top of my head Iād say there was four that went onto play senior inter-county football.
I wouldnāt put too much stock in underage success. Some clubs seem to be able to consistently produce good groups of players without producing superstars, whereas other clubs are able to produce 2 or 3 very good players every year but donāt have the strength in dept to be successful.
+1
I believe it was someone from Crossmaglen that said itās all about the enjoyment of the game other than success at underage. I forget where I seen/heard it but it was definitely someone from Crossmaglen that said it.

That sounds a little wishy washy.
I deleted it because I couldnāt find my source.
Heard an interview with Jackie a few weeks ago, said he didnāt think he was a great minor, didnāt think heād make it. Played fb I think.
One of them also killed Brian Boru.
Jackie was selling himself short. He won a junior championship final almost on his own with James Stephens. No other clubās second team have won the junior since. Tommy was on the u21 team with those lads. I presume he was on the minor team too. Aidan Fogarty. Conor Phelan was the star of the u21 team. He played senior in 2003 before heart issues curtailed his inter county career.
That year that they lost the Leinster minor for the first time in ages was when they set up the development squads and asked former players to come back and help.

Did they not do that in the 90ās? I recall them investigating the Laois Football Development Squads around that time anyway.
It was around 99/2000. I was at a u21 final that Richie power, cha, etc lost to Galway in Limerick by a point. I think it was the making of them. My main memory is a cunt of a Cyril Farrell lookalike sticking his fist into my face after they won. I think it was the making of those lads. Iād love to meet him now.
I think that final had to be the 2005 one, no way Richie Power was playing U 21 in 1999 or 2000, he would have been about 15!
A top class operator in his time. Donāt worry about the āhead examinationā, all his lineage had a bit of a āwantā in them. Theyād jump into a cement mixer after a ball, although his uncle (I think) Brendan had a bit of class about him. (Iām figuring heās a son of Pat Barden although Iām open to correction). A determined bugger when the mood took himā¦
My thoughts exactly
Learned this yesterday but Iām going ahead with it :
That Sky Sports bird*, Georgie Thompson has married Olympic rower Ben Ainslie.
She went from one of the Ant & Dec lads to a lad who talks like heās got a couple of plums down his gob. I donāt see this marriage lasting.

Not Benjamin, no ?
Since the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the realm has relaxed its approach towards some protocols and previously strictly adhered to formalities, in order to reflect the public mood. Nicknames are now allowed as part of formal titles. Thatās brave, compassionate and flexible constitutional monarchical leadership from Queen Elizabeth II.

I should have been clearer with my post. The reference to 99/2000 was an answer to @myboyblue about the timing of the Leinster minor final that they lost. The final Richie, cha lost where I was irked by a Cyril Farrell lookalike would have been around 2005 alright.
