Things I learned today (Part 1)

Regarding why he stayed closeted for so long, Manilow said, “I thought I would be disappointing them if they knew I was gay’’

I kind of suspected it for a while.

he got married to a bloke a few years ago, did ye only hear that on the wireless back in oireland now?

He only came out officially today.
That’s a big deal for the gay peoples

Anything previous to this was speculation

he was well known as a poofter, marrying another fella is usually a sign

Coming out is a big deal

I think it’s very mean of you to minimise this really important moment for Barry and Garry

And when did Barry meet Gary?

39 years ago, according to the Guarjian

And it’s Garry. Two r’s

One arse

Padraic Joyce never played Dublin in senior championship football .

Porsche built tanks for the Germans for ww2

In 1850 Limerick had a similar population to Dublin.

Not sure why you’re singling out Padraig/Padraic/Pauric/Podrick Joyce there given that no Galway senior footballer has done so since 1983.

The only other counties Dublin haven’t played in senior championship football since then are Antrim, Cavan, Waterford and Limerick.

Kilkenny and New York as well, if one is to be pedantic.

You’d have to put an asterisk over his career so.

Seemingly he said it on the radio the other day . To be honest it isn’t the kind of thing I would arrive at through my own train of thought . I think the context was that the league this year was good and Galway’s promotion .

You can put an asterisk over any sport success in you wanted .

There’s no asterisk over Laois’ 2003 Leinster win mate.

The Dubs and Meath were shite that year .

Nope. No asterisk whatsoever.

Portlaoise is as good as an asterisk pal.
