Things I learn't today (Part 2)

No. I heard a song recently that I liked the melody of. The sister was with me and she told me it was blinding lights by The Weeknd. Nice tune but I wouldn’t be paying 187 euros to hear it live.
I am going to the Prodigy on Thursday in IMMA with the nephew. He bought me the ticket for my birthday. Looking forward to the Carl Cox DJ set beforehand.

News to me. Any handy, reliable link?

I thought it was just the one fella? Obviously he has a band but I thought that was just what he called himself.

Matilda of Scotland (Edith) is the ancestor to all English / British Monarchs.

Her mother was Margaret of Wessex a royal Saxon house. But her father was Malcolm III of Scotland of House Dunkeld ( Dùn Chailleann) … the Dun Chailleann are part of the Ui Neill clan - more specifically of Cenel Conaill, a royal house from Donegal… they settled in Scotland and it’s argued were kinsmen to St. Colomba… but either which way they were from the Ui Neill clann and went on to be kings of Scotland.

Matilda was grandmother to Henry II through her daughter named Matilda also.

It’s also interesting insofar as the coronation stone (Stone of scone) (stone of destiny) is said to be Irish in a few separate bits of recorded folklore. It was loaned to the Scots to crown one of their early gaelic kings (of irish descent) and the stupid fuckers kept it and lost it to the tans.
Every tan king and queen has had their coronation on it for about 600 years…

The stone itself would have been connected to the southern Ui Neill of Tara.

The English crown is an irish (ui neill )institution.

The Mississippi is not the longest river in :us:

I discovered something similar with Sombr, I thought it was a band but it’s just the name some guy uses.

I dont think that’s what he’s talking about. It’s just completely accessible to normal punters but has a lovely quiet bar shop and food and seats and tables. It’s where the davin meets the hogan.

Go for a walk around Inistiogue village, south Kk. Like walking around somewhere in rural Yorkshire. Not a bit of Irish in it bar the gah pitch by the Nore. Even has a Protestant church.

I never thought of Inistioge much like that. The Normans might have built it but sure didn’t the locals burn them out of Woodstock?

I’d say they did, but I just get a very Anglised feel off it. Walked all of it about two years ago and the front of the houses and that are something different. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve always said it was the nicest place in Ireland. I used to go camping up the back of Woodstock with the scouts, swam down at the river.
