This is really beginning to piss me off. Can everyone try and type that bit quicker and see if that makes a difference with loading times.
The app speed is reasonably ok. The laptop speed is poor.

Come to think of it this place could use a new scuttery brown paint job.
It would really set the place off lovely.
It has come to my attention that some posters other than @Peter G have been affected by my efforts to frustrate the life out of him on here with slow site loads etc.
So, I’ll try and do something about it shortly.
The good news is: I’ll be using this as an excuse to give us a little makeover. It’s been a couple of months since our last one.
This time it is actually required. At least some of our issues lately are down to errors being produced by some issues with the current skin not being perfectly compatible with our software version. Just ask anyone who has tried to register recently - it’s impossible for some technical reasons.
The new skin won’t be too dramatic a change - in fact it’s a switch back to a modified version of a skin we had on here before. I’ve been using it for the past couple of days (@Bandage and @Horsebox you can too if you can figure out how) and it’s only mildly garish and ugly.
To Progress. 
We’re going members only for a while to see if that helps. I haven’t been online much so let me know if there’s any speed improvements tomorrow.
