They were clearly using this to get to the loyalist terrorist nonces and turn them into informers. Presume they did the same to the republican side. The North must have been as full of nonces as the Republic but you joined an illegal terror organization instead of a religious terror organization to make you impervious to sanction.

The Feds seemed to have a file on him. Intelligence organizations currency is information to be spent as and when they determine.
