Masked raiders have targeted the home of Manchester United footballer Federico Macheda.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the property on Washway Road in Sale in the early hours of Sunday following reports of a robbery.
Two men stole cash and jewellery before running out of the house, police said.
A friend of the 17-year-old Italian striker suffered a minor cut to his head during the robbery, the spokesman added. Inquiries are ongoing.
The Italian, who signed for Manchester United as a 16-year-old from Lazio, was at home when the raid took place.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police was unable to confirm reports that the attack was linked to a row earlier in the evening outside a Manchester city centre nightclub.
