Agreed. They tried to cram too much into it. Another episode would have let them tie things up better.
Good to see Stannis get the finger out though. The whole Danyeres storyline should just be dropped at this stage.
Overall, the Daenerys invading Westeros (hopefully, eventually) and the white walkers up north are probably the two largest most important threads in the whole saga. By the way, if you’re bored now, nothing happens with her for the next two series.
I get that but it feels too disconnected to the events in Westeros to justify her screentime. And because her invasion of Westeros is all but inevitable it seems certain that it’s going to be anti-climactic whenever it does happen.
Her scenes are generally quite dull as well, which is a big part of the problem. The taking of Mereen was pretty cool but other than that it’s all very boring.
I don’t think she has any great chemistry with any of the other characters in her storyline. Compared to the likes of Arya, Tyrion, Tywin, or Jaime she doesn’t seem to provide any spark in her dialogue with the other actors. If she wasn’t hot she would be a complete and utter waste of screentime.
Thoughts from last episode and this season in general (spoilers if you havent seen it, and if you havent, then what the fuck are you doing reading this thread you simple cunt)

[]This Season is by lined as - All Men Must Die, they werent fucking kidding. Some huge characters gone this season, they’ve always been pretty ruthless but this was away and beyond.
[]I gave up on the books midway through next season, it just all went to shit and I put this down to the clearout of characters and the introduction of so many more you were meant to try keep up with it. It may be easier on screen, but in the books, the growing cast and geography (the iron born especially) really lost me.
[]If we’re expected to view that Ramsay Bolton cunt as a big bad so to speak next season, they can fuck right off.
[]They need to do something with Daenerys. I understand its difficult, but either use her, or leave her in the background, but no one cares all that much about her faffing about right now.
[]I enjoyed the season, and the last episode, which had a nice theme of children going through it (of course it had, it was titled “children” you say but no matter). From Daenerys the breaker of chains and mother of dragons now chaining her dragons, to Tyrion murdering Tywin on the shitter (tying in nicely with the hound also taking a shit when found by Brienne), to the Hound and Arya’s odd father daughter relationship, John Snow and Mance, a lot of odd parenting issues were settled.
[]However, the shit with Bran and the 3 eyed raven would worry me greatly and more suggestion that this is going to go the way of Lost eventually where he truly had no fucking idea where he was going all along.

Anyway, I’m very wary of next season. I think it can be saved and if the suggestions that the show doesnt have to follow the books entirely are to be believed then it can be, but I’d be very skeptical on the whole. Still, 4 seasons of top notch fare isnt all that bad, but I will be prepared to bow out of it goes to shit, I learned my lesson from Lost.
The ending of Game of Thrones has been revealed. Has been alluded to in the books and fits too well to not be true, George RR Martin has acknowledged it as being correct. Sickened I read it now although I had guessed at an ending loosely along the same lines if not the real reasoning behind it…
