Headshot Joe.
Not sure if much can be got from that.
Hamill was very good full back.
Some great ball was sent into full forward line.
Bubbles will only get better as the summer goes on. Back him now for a goal in the quarter final as he kept his powder dry today.
Ronan Maher was awful poor again today. His form is a huge worry and I wouldn’t be he surprised if he’s dropped for next game. There was a lot of space down the centre
Oh, and Dublin were absolutely atrocious. Game was over after half an hour
Who else would ye put centre-back?
Paudie Maher back in there? Brendan out of midfield?
Ronan was a huge addition last year as he seems to be a natural centre-back and the others were stopgaps.
It’s a real problem area if he’s not going well. You’re robbing Peter to pay Paul putting Paudie there. His performances for Tipp tend to be at 7. James Barry is an option perhaps. Ronan seems incredibly lethargic and slow. I’d say richie McCarthy would have beat him on a sprint today
Barry is probably a good shout if you trust Hamill at full-back. But there will be bigger tests ahead for him too.
I wouldn’t put Paudie there, he might have the odd good game there but I wouldn’t trust him there over the course of the season; he doesn’t have the positioning & discipline to hold the centre. He’d have to limit other sides of his game too much, I think.
And Brendan Maher did a job there in the past but he’s not outstanding there either and that’d leave a gaping hole in midfield.
Barry probably does have what it takes, but I wouldn’t say his distribution is anywhere near Ronan Maher’s. And Maher was never particularly fast, he would always have been a small bit vulnerable to being run at by someone very quick. But it was never a huge obstacle, the rest of his game is strong enough.
If I was Ryan, I’d give him a kick up the hole and hope that he refinds form.
Ryan’s version of a kick up the hole might be dropping him
Depends who you draw in the quarters, I suppose.
Today would have been the day to drop him if his form was a worry really.
I don’t think it’s a kick in the hole he needs at all. He hasn’t got a break from hurling in years and just looks very tired. He was never quick but not that slow either. I thought he was alright today fwiw
He caught plenty of ball but didn’t hold the centre at all. We coughed up several goal chances that better teams will take.
They should of fucked him off the bus on the way home. While it was still moving.
Cunningham?
Yes. I should of specified.
To think he was in line for the Limerick job.
Makes me shudder
He took Dublin further than Limerick this year, he’d be a good man for you I reckon.
Sigh
Davy will be send for
Ye were lucky yesterday pal. Just about got out of jail. I reckon you owe me that snack box anyway
Christ.
Dublin should look to someone like John Allen for their next manager. A steady man manager who would rebuild the confidence and spirit of the side.
