Love the team and everything they did. Hate the fuckwittery of the ālow liesā that went with. Also massively respect the commercial machine that milked it and used the money to fund the game elsewhere. But as you are well aware Iām long on the record; home club first, Ireland second and Munster third.
Itās just a pity that so many people were turned off by the bandwagon, albeit this place is a very skewed sample. The achievement of winning the HEC with 13 Irish players, 12 of them Munstermen, will stand up alongside the great achievements of Irish rugby
I donāt know man, I would equate it to the Wexford county team patting themselves on the back for winning the All Ireland Club Championship. Their almost automatic qualification for it every year is a bit of an advantage too compared to real club teams in England and France.
Sure Leiscter and Toulose qualify every year as well. The qualification advantage is well mitigated by the minuscule playing numbers relative to both those countries
So, the USA (where no one has even heard of the fucking sport) has more senior male rugby players than Aus.
Japan has twice as many as NZ.
Ireland has more than Wales.
No great fan of Rugby myself, but fuxake, but that is quite the load of unmitigated shite you just posted.
The only thing that that chart proves is that different countries obviously have wildly varying ways of deciding that constitutes a āregisteredā player, and particularly wildly varying ideas about what defines a āsenior maleā rugby player.
Even the mildly retarded among us would look at the numbers on that chart and scoff.
On the surface this thread doesnāt reflect well on me. However I was made aware of some relevant information about the writer of that anti-rugby article and while I shared the sentiments of that piece I chose to express my difficulties with him by disagreeing with the specific article.
