@caoimhaoin any answer to this? I’m curious what kind of child protection structures are in place in the strength and conditioning business. Is there standard industry guidelines or is it down to individual businesses.
Humphries plead guilty some 5 years after the charges, in the meantime the victim goes through hell wondering if she’ll be cross examined. More a strategic plea rather than mitigation.
Was he not legally incompetent? Being in a mental institution?
It would indeed be a very interesting proposition, but I’d imagine the “secrecy” around it would back up the potential for defamation.

I’m not defending Humphries in slightest I’m just saying he is showing signs of remorse by his current actions. Even if that is for show it’s still more than the Egg chasing killer.

I have outlined incidents where members of the GAA colluded in there professional roles to bend the law.
Dress it up any way you want. This is common practice within the gaa. The only difference is the type of crime, which is more emotive and deplorable.

Paedo is pre pubescent. Humphries engaged in under age sex with a teenager. Age of consent in Ireland is 17 but in some European countries it is 14.
You rarely hear the word paedo used about a female teacher who has sex with a male student.
Dont know if it is different with your gym set up, but it shouldnt take more than 2 months to come through, and whilst I dont know if it is a standard in general or not, but our club do not let anyone work with teams until it comes through, whether in process or not.
