At tfk drinks last night it came to my attention that tommymoore has deleted his account on the site after the row/debate on the Champions League - match day 4 thread.
tommy said he would come back if we posted up an invite enticing him back. A sort of a wooing if you will.
But first I want to know what the general consensus is. Do you want mr moore back?
I am disappointed that anyone would think it right to leave a forum just because someone was arguing against them. I certainly won’t attempt to ‘woo’ such a person back. Also tommy dared to slag my country origins on Friday night which means that he is effectively slagging himself. That said I did feel that Rock’s assault was a little uncalled for and we all had a lot to drink on Friday night so I don’t oppose his return. That’s as good as you will get from me tommy
PS Where did you disappear to a Friday night Bandage? Since when did you go home early because you are working the next day?
Gash! It appears to be a personal disagreement with therock(or rocko as Bandage says) that led to this standoff. But a forum with such intellectual heavy weights is going to have casualties from time to time and I dont think anyone should be wooed back.
That said I don t think there was anything typed(not privy to what was said) to warrant a soap opera style walk into the sunset. And anther thing, if TM is gone then is he still reading the site to see if he is being wooed back yet not contributing on principle. How sad is that?
Or is the wooing process a verbal one? Again, gash!
There was certainly nothing said off-site that would have contributed to the walk off. It was all prompted by the disagreement with myself. Up to tommy himself really. As I said to him I’ve disagreed with everyone on here (even Bandage) and nobody else has felt the need to walk away from it.
I presume he is still checking in to see if he’s being wooed.
I’d like to see the lad back but I won’t be holding out the begging bowl for anyone.
Personally I’d prefer to see him back; we’ve few enough active members & he offers a unique perspective (e.g. the Galway club hurling final report)
