Noctors do a great lunch special. Changes every day so you’d need to check at the premises rather than menu online.

I’m barred in Noctors after I failed the drugs test for a shots competition…

Ox in Belfast last night was really top drawer. Really good food and nice atmosphere and not at all fussy service. The wine bar next door Ox Cave is also a brilliant spot.

Had dinner in Cian’s in Westport on Saturday night. Place was packed and the food was excellent.

Had a pork scrumpet for starter, followed by roast chicken with a mushroom risotto and ham croquet and a chocolate brownie for dessert. All were delicious.

Decent value too at €50 a head

Only…

Hmmm. I like their Malahide establishment. I wonder if they are much better at health controls in Fingal.

I’d occasionally do a roast chicken with mushroom risotto, a masterful combination.

I’m sure you’d get a better class of a mouse in Malahide.

Doubt you’d catch a mouse in a kitchen in Cark.

The pet lovers will love heading away to Ashford Castle for the weekend

Hopefully all the winners get a good return on their investment

I wonder is it bags of wine gums.

Great to see Waterford to the fore in hospitality matters again.
