Had lunch in Hartes of Kildare yesterday very disappointed. Very limited .menu. 3 burgers and 1 fish wascthe order. It took 50 minutes for the order. We asked for obe of the burgers to be plain it wasxsent out fully dressed. Had to be sent back. All 3 burgers were pink in the centre not nice. Cost was 115 euros for meals plus 3 minerals and a drink. To top if off there was a larger party behind us. You could not hear yourself talk. Will certainly not be going back.

Wasn’t sure in which thread I should post this. I’ll leave the spot unidentified for the moment but I’m sure some forumites will recognise it immediately😂 Had a bit of bidness down this neck of the world today and decided to treat myself afterwards. I didn’t have anything off this part of the menu, something about taking a bite out of Dan Shanahan or John Mullane didn’t sit right with me😂 I had a noble black pudding and bacon salad accompanied by a Helvick Head IPA. Returned to the car which was parked strategically outside a well known GAA pitch for a snooze before heading home. Place was hopping with lots of locals which is always a good sign.

Is there any pub/restaurant in Dublin not infested with rats I wonder?

There’s rats everywhere

Shur what do you expect when you go looking for them.

How is it the longest pub in Europe? That sounds like a made up lie

That’s not their first rodeo. Between the last order and the clown of an owner I wouldn’t darken their doors again.

It used to be a grand pub

It was indeed but started to go downhill before Covid and that finished it off as a decent boozer/restaurant. Lot of good staff left because of the owner too

He sounds like a pain in the hole in the wall.

He’ll have a hole in his wallet thankfully as one of my mates said

Do the Food Safety Authority go around to every premises monthly or do they get “tipped off” that certain places are infested?

The reality is that there’s rats everywhere and if we only knew the half of what’s in the food/water we eat/drink we wouldnt touch any of it.

The places that are closed are rarely on their first failure. They normally get a week or two to sort shit out

Literally
