Top 10 Irish Restaurants (that spidey visited in a week )

There’s a lot of insecure folk on TFK who seemingly are afraid to eat chips in nice restaurants. Don’t be embarrassed. There’s nothing whatsoever wrong with it. Don’t feel obliged to order something more unusual. Relax. Enjoy yourselves. Steak and chips* is fine.

If you want to have homemade chips you go for it pal

Maybe if you ordered a side of homemade chips you wouldn’t have had to go for a bacon double cheeseburger meal afterwards

I noted a nasty element on this thread earlier today. It was almost like a gang mentality seeking to bully and belittle over having the steak instead of venison or pheasant. Thank goodness I’d watched Bressie’s speech or I might have become very anxious.

Limerick posters: what’s the closest equivalent to the Phoenix park in Limerick for this punch up @glasausban and @The Big Cheese are having over the Christmas.
The peoples park Kiiid.

On a related note, would anyone have any suggestions for good ‘nice’ city centre locations that are child friendly to meet up with people for a few afternoon drinks this Sunday? Mrs Mac had been suggesting the Westbury but their ‘gallery’ is fully booked. I’m hoping the likes of @Fagan ODowd, @Fran or @Colin Montgomerie can assist me here.

Does it have to be city centre? Ely at Grand Canal Dock is perfect. You could try The Horsehoe Bar in the Shelbourne either.

Would imagine the Shelbourne will also be mobbed. Ideally City Centre but GCD would be acceptable if it wasn’t possible. I’m not mad on Ely however.

Atrium in the Westin might be worth a shot.

Are you looking for a pub where you might get some food or a restaurant, pal? Somewhere relatively cheap and cheerful like Market Bar could work if it’s the former. A big open space too so handy if you have a buggy for the young chap etc.

Ideally an open space in a fancy-ish location close to the hustle and bustle. The Gallery in the Westbury is ideal although overpriced in my opinion but you’d expect that.

Other options would be Dandelion or The Fitzwilliam.

Was in Idá’s in Dingle recently which is up there with the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. My starter of pork cheeks, potato cakes, kale, scallops, roasted garlic cream and pork jus was fucking awesome.

Just get a bag of cans and sit in Stephen’s Green, buddy. Cheap and cheerful, plenty of fresh air and right in the heart of the city.

I steer well clear of town with the kids as a rule @Mac.

Bah Humbug

Dandelion is a cunthole. The Fitzwilliam could be a good shout.

I thought you were going to bring Mrs Mac though.

 wanker…

I was also going to recommend The Fitzwilliam before I got sidetracked by a work matter. Let’s go with that.
