Disappointing to hear
Gorman’s Clifftop House not far from Dingle. Sensational views and fare.
Taste at Rustic
Best meal I have ever had. Not a foodie but fantastic
@Fran and @Spidey, as the forum’s premier food and restaurant critics, have you eaten anywhere good (new or old) lately? Anyone else enjoy a dining experience in Ireland in recent times and wish to recommend a venue to denizens of TFK?
Had the salad plate in D2 about half an hour ago, pal. Meh.
Forest Avenue just down the road from you is unreal, mate.
Heading to The Greenhouse in a few weeks time, can’t wait
I’ve only eaten in Forest Avenue once before and was very impressed indeed. Must plan a return visit alright.
Where’s The Greenhouse? What type of cuisine is on offer?
Try The Green Hen.
Superb grub.
Greenhouse is on Dawson Street.
Contemporary Irish cuisine with a French influence.
Same as Forest Avenue for me - one visit which I enjoyed, must go back.
I went to Asador again on Friday night and had another excellent dining experience. Perfect location too which allowed me to head across to The 51 for some beverages afterwards.
Recent full blown dining experiences have been reduced due to junior Spidey still being a mentalist in bed that has removed babysitting offers for me and Mrs Spidey.
However, Delahunt on Camden Street is an absolute winner. It really is top class. If you have a row with your missus Coppers is only round the corner.
Does this mean he’s putting the moves on the babysitters?
No
Agree on The Green Hen, ate there last week and it was superb. Has anyone been to Taste at Rustic lately? Heading there on Friday, I’m intrigued by the steaming pots.
Can he read minds?
Posted above. Was at Taste at Rustic at weekend. Best meal I have ever had. It was so good I didn’t want it to end. Already planning to go back.
Ah sorry, didn’t spot that. Sounds excellent. Any menu recommendations?
It all looks brilliant. Genuinely hard to choose.
Everything we had was great. I had nigiri selection to start but if going again would get sashimi or torched scallops
Grilled king Crab was great.
Dexter beef equally good
deep fried sweet corn beignets recommended by waitress and were lovely.
smoked Japanese cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream and popcorn
Two starters, two mains, three sides , two desserts and a bottle of Malbec was 150 euro. It is expensive but i think extra 30 or 40 euro versus a “regular” restaurant is worth it given the experience. I am quite cynical about restaurants and generally don’t find them worth it but this definitely was.
Up the road then to the Drury Buildings for a couple of dark and Stormies and some people watching topped off my best out night in Dublin for a long while
If going as a couple to taste there is a table down the back on its own against the wall that is worth asking for as you are away from other tables and a bit more privacy/space. Can get a bit smoky from the coals used to cook and brought to tables but nothing too bad
I just lay it out for y’all to play it out
