Took a jant up to Nevin Maguire’s place there
Wouldn’t be a fan of his tv shows or the recipes he makes on that, but I have to say it was top top notch. Possibly the best meal experience I’ve ever had in Ireland. Well worth the effort for a special occasion
How far in advance did you book? Did you have to be rolled out of there? Heard food top notch but loads of it too

It was booked last December I believe - I was a guest of the booking party. Dinner was at 9 and we weren’t finished eating til about 11.30, so it’s the entire night and no heading off elsewhere for a drink. We retired to their bar for a whiskey as that’s all I could manage
Food was exceptional though. I’d maybe go earlier in the evening if I was booking it myself

Some place along the lines of 1826. I think I’ll just go with the Wild Geese, location is handy and the menu looks very good.
It’s really lovely. 1826 different class but you’ll get a great meal in the wild geese.

Wild Geese is very good also. The Blue door is not up to the standard of the other two.
Wild Geese was good. Portions were good, well presented and very tasty but I just felt it was lacking a little something.

Sorbet.
They had Ardrahan cheese from county Cork. The food was savage. Unreal. I was fit to burst.
That’s nice cheese but very very smelly
The smell of cheese when they brought around the cheese trolley was unreal. Overpowering.
You need to eat it when you buy it. Keeping it in fridge not an option
As an aside. They were on nationwide or ear to the ground or something one night the crowd that make the cheese.
They also have a product called lullaby milk. They milk the cows in the middle of the night and the different hormones created at that time has a soothing quality that supposedly helps you sleep!!!
Tell us about the calf brain
Very nice. Texture of a soft piece of liver and a faint tang of liver off of it as well.
It’s a sad state of affairs when “carrot” sounds like the most appealing course.
The carrot was beautiful pal.
There are enough mugs out there to believe it I suppose.
