He literally did. He got 5 points from play the first day and he got 2 goals from play the second day. You’re arguing with hard facts.
He also scored 9 points from play in an All Ireland Final and gave one of the best individual performances ever in defeat to Galway in 2015 scoring 3-4 from play
Callanan is the footballing equivalent of zatlan. A total fraud on the big day against the best. He’ll score plenty of goals against no mark defenders from Clare and cork in Munster championship.

That was the single most overrated display of all time. He was marking john hanbury wasn’t it? Ffs. The greatest individual display of all time 
he shat himself in the end that too and missed a penalty and a 65 to win the game for tipp.
Probably the best Tipp hurler I’ve seen, when he was at his peak. I don’t recall a forward who was as big a goal threat. Up there with Cummins, Eoin Kelly, Paudie Maher. Only really got the end of careers of English and Fox

He scored 3-4 from play in a game where the rest of his teammates were shocking, almost dragging them over the line in a game they didn’t deserve to be close to Galway in. He was marking Padraig Mannion and embarrassed him, one of the best hurlers in the country now
He’s a bad penalty taker and free taker and he had just got his head smashed off the ground by Hanbury
He was completely clean by Richie mc in 13 and 14.

From 2014 to 2016, Callanan played 15 championship matches, how many goals do you think he scored?
Keep dreaming up excuses. In 09 and 14 he had simple goal chances to win the games and he missed both of them. Cost tipp the semi final in 2015. Regularly cleaned out too. Hasn’t been mapped in since 2016. Was dropped for when tipp won the all ireland in 2010.
I’m far from a Tipp fan but an internet warrior calling a lad who has scored 27 goals and 197 points in championship hurling a show pony is one of the stupidest statements I’ve ever read. I suppose all those scores were handed to him?

I don’t care if he scored a hundred. He is a bully against the cannon fodder. Great players are judged on the big day at crucial moments in those big games. Callanan consistently goes missing in these moments.
We’re talking about the greats of the game. Callanan isn’t in the top 3 tipp hurlers over the last decade. It’s offensive to the likes of king Henry, eoin Kelly etc that a bluffer like that is mentioned in the same breath as them.
Noel McGrath is a great man but this is completely false

He scored 16 goals in 15 games. If you include 2017 it was 19 goals in 20 games. There possibly have been other forwards with that goal scoring ratio but I don’t know who. I also think that he was nominated for hurler of the year three years in a row. Have any other hurlers been?
