Fergal Horgan in fairness to him always tried to let the game flow. Rarely made a blatantly wrong decision. He was fair. He’ll be a loss.
Next man up I suppose.

Thinly veiled he let Limerick away with murder.
He was the best in the business.
Class act. Pity he has decided to finish up.
He will be able to focus more on the day job now, but he always delivered for Limerick.
He was fair to everyone. Always reffed the game on its merits. No nonsence from him.
What I don’t like about the referee selection process is there seems to be an unwritten rule that there is one ref per county.
I have a feeling Fergal was getting less games as Tipp also have Michael Kennedy and Conor Doyle vying for his position just behind them.

Stevie is one of the top sports journalists in the country.
The likes of OTB could only dream of an exclusive like that.
He’s great riends with Marty Morrissey and John Fogarty of the Irish Examiner.
He rode Limerick in the 2013 minor semi final Hawkeye debacle but he learned from it, he liked letting it flow which always suited the top sides.
He’ll be missed, he’ll be reffing Limerick’s in-house training games this summer I’d imagine.
Paud O’Dwyer and Keenan are probably the most likely now to get the big gigs this summer. You’d wonder maybe could RTE or GaaGo give Fergal a role to discuss any contentious decisions on the Sunday Game.
Keep an eye out for Eamonn Furlong (Wexford) as referee next few years. Decent ref.
He’ll probably be on the panel for the preview night in the Woodlands.
He’d absolutely love that.
He would be excellent at it too. He was on the Dalo podcast last year and he came across well.
Was Fergal doxxed on Premierview a few years back?
Even brought his own sandwiches I heard
Stevie might snap him up for the Saturday preview show or Sunday sports show to review decisions
