Tottenham Hotspur, the Ryan Mason variant

He really has them purring. No Spurs manager has ever done fuck all old trafford, shur didnt Banquo use to make fun of them?

A bit of an over-reaction from @ChairmanDan here; Old Trafford has rarely been a happy hunting ground for the London Hotspurs. He was hardly expecting 3 points, was he?

They were 7 points ahead of them before last night :joy:, why wouldn’t they expect a decent showing.
Spurs put 6 on United at Old Trafford a couple of years ago

It’s really cute how they’re so popular now, among supporters of other teams :grinning:

Bottom line, shit football demands results, let’s see

Best Spurs managers of the last 20 years have been Jol, Redknapp and Pochettino. All of them got the job very much under the radar, were brought in as project managers to build a team from a very low base and played in an attacking, exciting style.

Your ‘instant success’ merchants who play in such a dull negative and turgid fashion is not a recipe that will work at Spurs who don’t have the financial muscle to mix it with the elite coterie of super franchises. They only hang around for 2-3 years anyway.

Spuds win a Milk Cup every ten years and demand their decorated manager who has them in the top 4 gets sacked. Unreal entitlement

Bit of a climbdown mate

In Spurs financial terms, Coach Conte has got significant financial backing. Close to £200 million over two transfer windows. It’s an amount that pales in comparison to what the elite coterie of super franchises can shell out, but it’s a lot for Spurs. I don’t recall any Spurs manger getting that kind of financial backing.

15 games across league and European Cup now this season and it has been just dreadful. A snooze fest. Coach Conte was the man with the big name and the big reputation, was brought into win the league and is simply not delivering.

Any Spurs fan or owner expecting a league title when totals of 90 points plus have been necessary for most of the past 5 seasons is deluded. Sure you said yourself that Spurs don’t have the finances to compete so how can you be stating that Conte should be delivering the league title?

We really should have gone the route of a dynamic, attack minded, exciting young coach like Graham Potter or Eddie Howe.

The Boss had a great way of describing them… “Look lads, its Tottenham” :grinning:

Eddie Howe has spent more than Conte since joining Newcastle and is behind him in the table. Would you expect him to meet your lofty expectations of a league title?

Your boss?

Coach Conte said he was at Spurs to win the title. He’s sold us a pup on every level.

Conte is doing well to have raised the spirits of Spurs fans. Incredible to think what he’s done with that Club.

Calamitous mistake from Lloris and we trail 0-1 at home to Newcastle.

0-2. Newcastle double their lead. We’re an utter shambles.

You’d have to say they haven’t played very well here, hopefully the right words from the coach will see a better second half. He doesn’t look very pleased.

Golden Boot Harry (who else) looks to have dragged us back into it. 1-2.

Off to VAR now to try and chalk it off.

1-2 down at home with 10 minutes to go and Conte subs on two defenders.

Jesus it’s amazing Conte has this rabble of a club so high
