I like Thomas
Iāll dedicate my run up seven sisters tonight to him
Saw that midfield line out many times.
Will obviously always be most connected with Leeds, but Terry gave a few good years to Spurs as well. Martin Chivers and Terry in consecutive days. Sad times.
Proper traditional FA Cup third round clash this at White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa. The two clubs that topped the role of honour in the FA Cup, when it ceased to be a really serious tournament in 1992.
A big line up of Spurs greats, Cliff Jones, Pat Jennings, Glenn Hoddle, Osvaldo Ardiles, Ledley King to name but a few on the pitch beforehand to remember the two members of the Tottenham Hotspur family that we lost this week, Martin Chivers and Terry Yorath.
Plenty of huffing and puffing for first 20 minutes and Villa cut us to pieces for opening goal. This could get ugly.
0-2 down at half time. Taken apart by a very good Aston Villa team.
A crescendo of boos at half and this is going to get very ugly and toxic
Looking grim for Coach Frank. Could Amorim be tempted?
Odobert pulls a goal back. 1-2
Back in it, somehow.
Simons nearly equalises straight from kick off.
All Spurs now,
That was a great tackle, wring man booked
Aston Villa repeat their 1992 feat of knocking out Tottenham Hotspur in the Third Round at White Hart Lane.
A good omen that for Liverpool, possibly to win the final against high flying Sunderland.
Last time the holders were knocked out of the Cup by a non-league side in 1909, Manchester United went on to beat Bristol City 1-0 in the final. First FA Cup win after their formation in 1902.
You just sense Coach Solskjaer has his name on the Cup this season.
Did Sutton United not beat Coventry?
I didnāt know Coach Solskjaer had been reappointed. Best of luck to him.
A Manchester United v Bristol City final would be a clash of two good sized but underachieving clubs. A clash of peers.
Coventry won in 87 and that game was 89
It will be remembered forever along with other giant killings of the time because back then it was a proper competition, nobody will remember today unfortunately
Much better second half showing but is it enough for Coach Frank to save his job. I very much doubt thereās an alternative lined up so I donāt see any great point in firing him mid-season.
He does look completely out of his depth though and astute soccer types like @Little_Lord_Fauntleroy and @Bandage predicted as much from the outset and said he was only a hammer thrower.
Canāt lose sight of the fact either that the players he has at his disposal are largely rubbish. The concern though is that he might not do a whole lot better with better players at his disposal
I thought Frank was sacked for a second
He will have to go if they lose this
You would think so. West Ham are fucking useless.
Should be out of sight. Nuno sitting back now when thereās at least another goal here for us
