Tipp
No itâs a mountain finish. Mont Aigual , the setting for the book âThe Riderâ @flattythehurdler
Nico got away in the break today. Six minutes up. About half way through the stage. Average speed 49km/h for the first two hours. The last hour will be tasty though. Intermediate sprint coming up soon so a chance for Bennett to get more points.
Actually Iâm wrong. Itâs a large break, theyâll get the sprint points so Bennett will keep his jersey today.
Grinta!
The Italian equivalent of Hon ta fuck
Lutsenko wins today. No changes overall, bit of an anti climax. Bennett picked up a few points over Sagan.
Be great if he could hold him off. Hard to see it but youâd never know.
If he goes for the Intermediate sprints like Sagan always does he will have a good chance. Plus some of the top sprinters will be gone by the last week. He really needs to win a stage though.
Is there a few bob for it?
Few hundred each day you have it I think and 25k for outright winner of green jersey at end of tour
Jaysus. Thereâs definitely easier ways to get âŹ25k. Mad bastards the lot of em
Saw somewhere that at one stage that Mark Cavendish was on 2.4m a year.
The likes of Nico Roche were on about 400 grand a year with Sky and he never won a thing.
Shaping up for a sprint today. The peloton was blown apart by wind and there are riders all over the place. Bennettâs group is nine minutes behind.
Whatâs this on? Eurosport?
Yeah. Also ITV4 i think
Watching a bit of this today.
Seems to be a lot of lads feeling the pressure and dropping out.
The French lad Allaphilippe went on the attack on the climb, but a minute later he had dropped out the back and was struggling.
Bennet picked up a couple of points on the sprint earlier and Sagan got none.
Yates still leads. Alaphilippe gone. Pinot gone. Pogaczar made up a bit of time. Dumoulin lost a minute or so. Four Colombians in top ten. All to play for.
