Tour De Farce

Yeah he was a couple of minutes late and was later dropped by his team on the TT.

Great suggestion!!

I think we are all getting giddy at the prospect of a French tour winner. I hope we aren’t disappointed

Who’s gonna win it from here? Seems to be very open.

Bookies have it like this:

Bernal probably justified favourite at this point.

Used as well for the Kellogs criterium races that used to be held in Cork. They used to be a right bit if niggle in them with the UK riders. You’d regularly see fellas having to put the bike over the shoulder and walk it up Patricks hill

Anyone any idea what ‘category’ the gradient on Patricks hill would be? Hard enough get up it in a car

16% average. It’s only 200 yards though. @Locke would know better than me.

In the old days the categories were determined by whether a certain make of Citroen car could get up them in gears 1-4, hence Category 1-4.

Tranny ??

I think he transitioned a few years ago.

I reckon the leader will hold on. Seems to have the legs for it. It will be close but 1:40 is good, might lose 30 seconds - 1 min today. Doesn’t look like breaking. Thomas quintana pinot all cracked

I couldn’t call it. If it’s wet today some of those descents will be tasty.

I thought alaphippe be gone by now. Grit and fight I hope he wins. He made the tour this year

The fast lads can get up Patrick’s Hill in less than a minute from Wellington Street. 16% average but it gets to around 25% where the road narrows. A baaaasssht of a hill no matter how many times you do it

There was a book on him came out the guts of a decade ago . I remember reading about it .

A great book. Was no hint of what was to come in the book

“In Search of Robert Millar”? If that the book then yes it was a top top read. Though his sexual identity was discussed in it.

A brilliant climber and a great help to Roche over the years

Short stage today so could be very fast.
