Thoughts on these approaching Atlantic weather systems? Some folk online think we’re facing into something worse than Eowlyn or whatever the big E was called.
Carlow weather seems relaxed enough about it all

@TreatyStones - any chance this storm and snow event that’s gonna hit the UK and Europe nudges a bit north and hits Munster?
@ciarancareyshurlingarmy this is the appropriate thread to ask for accurate weather predictions . Not the layman’s thread
I’m waiting for the models to finish processing but at the moment that’s looking very unlikely. You might see some click bait sites bigging up the chances but I’d say the chances of any widespread snow in the south is around 10%.

The Storm on Thursday is showing signs of a more northerly trajectory. The evening models attached show a shift north in the path of the centre of the low pressure.
This could well mean snow for many areas in the south of the country as the rain meets cold air over Ireland.
The overnight and morning models will be very interesting to see how the path progresses.
A more northerly path means the likelihood of snow increases and the further north the snow would move up Ireland.
Please keep up to date with the latest!

Good Morning all
The Storm on Thursday is expected to remain just off the south coast.
Some snow is expected but mainly on higher ground above 300 metres! Possibly for a time down to 200 metres.
This could well mean snow for many areas in the south of the country as the rain meets cold air over Ireland. Cork and Waterford looking most at riskS
Still some changes possible so best to keep up to date.

Bases covered.
In snow?
Well @Kyle how’s it looking?
Being lashed out of it with rain and a bit of sleet. If any snow develops it wont stick
You’re welcome
That’s why you are the man.
@TreatyStones with the yanks moaning about a bit of winter and the aussies moaning about a bit of summer- will we have anything to moan about in the coming weeks?
The throwball and refs against Galway
I don’t believe so, not weather wise anyways. All looking pretty typical Jan / Feb weather.
