Jim Beglin has always brought a ‘big game feel’ to proceedings.

Ah Kelly’s a harmless sort. Houghton and Whelan are negative about the game and bitter they retired before the big money came in. Beglin had his career ruined by injury but still brings a cheery disposition.

Beglin has been fucking pathetic at this as long as I can remember him doing it.

I can hear the Deise wagons assembling…

working with George Hamilton for 30 odd years would suck the lust for life out of any man I’d say

Beglin is very good. Ignoring the fact he is an ex hoop and I’m biased, he is positive and he puts in the work to have the knowledge of both teams

George Hamilton is much maligned but he’s an absolute pro

George Hamilton and Ger Canning are the two finest English Speaking commentators this country has ever produced.

They always get it right on the really big days.

“Jordan the player and not the model, but he’s a model player.”

Lines like that will live forever.

Not really. I remember when Jim was a young lad and was picked up by the Hoops. Story was that the scouts for the Hoops came to see a chap called Billy Breslin. They saw Billy arriving late, smoke a fag outside the Johnville dressing room and decided he wasn’t for them. Seeing as they were down anyway they stayed and watched the match and were impressed by young Beglin.
That said he is a very bland commentator and has an awful accent.

I agree. Very good on the radio too

Harrowing figures for GGA & soccerball

The Six Nations is the most anticipated event.
This is rugby country.

I’m more surprised rugby got over 10% than soccer being level with the gah.

Comparing the 6 nations being the most anticipated sporting event vs the overall popularity says enough about the bandwagon.

And Tennis country apparently.
By the looks of things it was Teneo’s own clients who they surveyed to produce this report.

I’ll take the Teneo Index over the discredited Nielsen Ratings so I will.

All sports in Ireland need a bandwagon . Rugby by no means the worse

Ireland aren’t in the 2022 world cup and its still only slightly behind the 6 Nations

Horsey horse is very much a minority sport
