New Game Of Thrones nearly downloaded.
Counting down the minutes to going home to set it to download, out for a 5km run, dunner and watch it.
The Monday of a Champion.
Supposed to be a cracker Croppy.
Great episode. Ygritte and Jaime.
AMC has announced the premiere date for the fifth and final season of Breaking Bad. The Emmy-winning show will premiere July 15th, with eight episodes airing this summer and eight more airing in the summer of 2013.
Though the premiere date was previously unannounced, the unusual airing schedule was already teased by AMC last month. “We’re splitting it,” said star Bryan Cranston at the time. “We’re going to shoot the first eight, then take a four-month production break, then the rest will air next year.”
NBC have taken the strange steps of sacking Dan Harmon as showrunner of Community. Harmon is well known as being a monumental prick and has been having a running row with Chevy Chase for a while now, but given that he came up with and writes most of the show, this seems a very odd choice. It’ll limp along for one more season and that’ll be that.
Very much looking forward to the final series of Breaking Bad. I fully expect it to establish the show as one of the greatest ever, and arguably the greatest ever.
Game of Thrones I have to say is somewhat overrated. A good show certainly, but not great by any stretch of the imagination. Not yet at least.
I’m as big a fan of Breaking Bad as the next man, I wear my Los Pollos Hermanos t-shirt with pride, but no way could I say it’s the greatest ever show. Too many dark, boring episodes in there, imo. The last episode of S04 was the best TV I’ve ever seen, mind.
Agreed on both points. Regarding Game of Thrones i thought season one was excellent but season two has been very poor so far i think, granted i have only seen the first three episodes…
I think it’s as good as the Sopranos, but probably not on the same level as The Wire, even if the acting and the soundtrack is superior. All those shows to some extent (to a large extent really) focus on the nature of evil and Breaking Bad does it in a more compelling way than the other two in my opinion. The tension between the indifferent universe and an absolute sense of morality is what makes it so emotionally intense. I don’t think the Sopranos ever really forced the viewer to confront their sympathy with Tony Soprano in the way that Breaking Bad does with Walter White. I think Breaking Bad requires much more of the viewer and is better for it.
I do agree with all that. The Wire is another level up, though. BB is just too flawed at times, for me. But, hey, I have little interest in putting it down, I fucking love it. Roll on July 15th. Something to look forward to when the hangover from winning the Euros is starting to subside.

The Killing is fantastic.
How far in are you? I’ve taken a break after season 2 episode 3. Will watch the rest once it’s over.
Up to date Brian, watched the latest episode last night, two more episodes left in the season - really gripping stuff.
Dear TV buffs,
A friend of mine with decent enough taste told me over the weekend that It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is absolutely brilliant. I watched S01E01 yesterday and thought it was pretty fucking poor.
Please advise.
Thanks.
Stick with it, it’s brilliant.
Grand so.
It’s very good alright. Not sure about the last series but up until then it’s excellent. The first episode is a cracker though so slightly concerned if you don’t like that one.
