In terms of how the show itself was put together, I thought they dragged the arse out of Making a Murderer a bit. Could have been done in six episodes.

But the case is astonishing. While I wouldn’t be entirely sure he’s innocent, there is simply no way Avery could have been found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in that trial. Absolutely mental.

Some of the more bizarre points:

  1. Avery being convicted of raping, cutting, and shooting the victim in his cluttered garage without a single speck of blood remaining. Not even in the floor cracks which contained Avery’s DNA but not her’s.

  2. Dassey then being convicted for raping, cutting, and shooting the same victim in the bedroom of the cabin, a crime he also accomplished without the victim losing any blood.

  3. Later that evening, after their forensic removal from the cabin of the victim’s DNA, they decide to burn the body a few feet from Avery’s own cabin. The smell of a burning body being something they didn’t expect anyone to notice.

  4. They then drive the victim’s car past their car crusher, and hide it carefully under a couple of twigs. They also leave no DNA or fingerprints in the vehicle, presumably because Avery was wearing gloves. Obviously he removed the gloves to leave those highly visible smears of his own blood.

  5. Avery also decides to scrub the car’s key of the victim’s DNA, smear it with his own DNA, and then carefully dispose of it by dropping it behind some slippers in his office. The key isn’t there when the room is first searched, nor for any of the following three days, but magically appears on the 4th day when the two Manitowoc cops gain access to the cabin.

Honourable mentions for the Manitowoc cop calling in the plates the day before the victim’s car was found, the woman searching a salvage yard of at least 1000 vehicles finding the car almost immediately, and the entire fiasco of Dassey’s ‘confession’. It really is fucking mental. Those juries must have been every bit as retarded as the two pitiful characters they convicted. Frightening stuff.

Personally thouggt it needed most of it, the exposing of the cops and their lying had to be very descriptive and explained to the audience very clearly. I think they needed the episodes to do that.

I found the attitude of the Halbach family extremely strange. They had obviously been convinced by police from day 1 they had their man. They then sat through that evidence for however long and never waivered. The police were in their ear all the time and used the brother with the media.

I don’t think Avery had anything at all to do with it. I find it hard to believe someone of his mental caoabilities would not be an easier frame. This was a botched job in framing in ways, but had Avery done it i feel the evidence would be over whelming. The one thing that troubles me is the burning of tye cat when he was younger. That is off-putting.

I think the suspects are in this order

  1. The room mate who never reported her missing.
  2. The ex-boyfriend
  3. The male who was harrassing her on the phone (who may be one of the first 2)
  4. Brendan Dasseys Stepfather and possibly brother.
  5. A hired gun by the cops
  6. The cops themselves

Its mostly likely a case of oppurtunism by the cops and one of the top 3 i listed but they have been so dirty and the civil suit was literally going to break and close the town down they had alot of support. The top 2 were heavily involved in the search and no.2 was front and centre which as we have seen before often its someone very close and often they are very helpful in searches. The ex’s involvement in the finding of the car is very suspect.

Apparently Kratz the lead DA has gone hiding due to death threats etc. Its ironic he spoke so much about the “type of person” Avery was when he has now been exposed as at best an unprofessional creep, maybe even a peado.

The judges were clearly biased and equally corrupt.

Its bananas this can happen. One would think public opinion may get some form of federal investegation into it. But who knows.

Makes you wonder how much of this goes on. I would think plenty. The whole time all these guys involved made me think how “irish” they were, in a cop kinda way. Unbelievable arrogance, an astonishing ability to lie and then to shrug off the lies as “oh i can’t remember that well, stop annoying me with silly details”. People who are not actually that educated but get a bit of power, watch alot of tv and think they are smarter than the rest of us.

I quickly skipped over your posts and didn’t read them but have you 2 lads just detailed the entire series?
