Twitter (Part 1)

The dubs days are fucked, when the limerick hurling snobs can see what’s going on it’s over. All thanks to Ewan.

His core point is valid but the way he is going about it (i.e rowing with stupid duds fans morning noon and night) wouldn’t be for me. I also think his argument loses a lot of its power when he gives an absolutely exceptional group of players no credit at all. Regardless of all the money in background them lads still need to go out and perform

Doesn’t matter, everyone is clued in to the money thing now.Thats all that matters.

He has a valid point, not seen one person factually refute any of his arguments. It’s just “oh you’re just a bitter bollix” which while probably true doesn’t rebut any of his statements.

Was it between 2007 and 2017 the Dubs got €16m in central funding and the next nearest county got €1m? Imagine the boot was on the other foot and it was Kerry, Mayo or Tyrone getting that sort of cash. There’d be an outcry and justifiably so.

This Dublin team is so good they don’t need any other advantages like that.

Ewan could do with a spell off Twitter. For his own sake.

In fairness to Ewan, this tweet makes a great point. Maybe he should have shut up after it.

What was the breakdown of funding for Kerry and their complex?

Gga is a minority sport in Dublin, they need to throw money at it to keep it alive

Hurling snobs dont care.

Kerry were flat out raising money over in the USA last year. They made millions.

Dublin get 30% less per head of population than leitrim, 38% less than tyrone and 17% less than Kildare

That doesn’t answer the question

That was their own business, the gaa are giving the dubs our money and telling clubs to fuck off we can’t fund your clubhouse/pitch in ballygobackwards because the dubs need it.Are you a bit dim?

Here you go buddy. Its broke down here.

So cark got a new stadium, Kerry at least 1 million for a centre of excellence

Wow

They got a million off the munster council towards it. And then were expected to raise the rest themselves. Which they did. And is an option available to any club in the country.

When you say “our” money I presume you acknowledge that large chunks of it is effectively dependent upon either the ticket paying population of Dublin or the commercial attraction of the overall population of Dublin (to broadcasters, sponsors etc).

Yawn

So thats a yes. Dublin are a source of lots of money. Lots of money goes back to Dublin. Whats your problem?

I suppose you want a system like our national taxation where Dublin generate lots of cash and “redistribute” it out
