I think Nazi is a fair enough description of the ultra far right, it’s been used for generations, we all know what it means

The ould nazis are hardly pro-life, are they? They murdered millions.

It’s flung around like confetti nowadays. I think it’s lost any use as a descriptive term. When the likes of JK Rowling is called a nazi it’s time to come up with a new term.

The nazi who’s the topic of discussion here is pro life! It’s all very confusing.

Thats it in a nutshell.

That’s fair enough, fair point, but it’s not a JK Rowling debate we’re having here

Shur wasn’t that Hitler lad a vegetarian who loved animals?

I’m as confused as yourself.

Should we all be racists now too, Father?

Repent.

In fairness, You can’t like everyone.

No but the whole thing kicked off over a no mark ex teacher (admittedly married to a poisonous dwarf who may dream of being a nazi) tweeting a low level racist comment to a politician. I’m sure Hazel is fine. Yer wan will be fine too both parties probably got exactly what they wanted out of the interaction. Bit of attention and a profile boost. It’s hardly the end of the world.

But shur the nazis said they were socialists

There was a big palaver about whether or not it was appropriate to refer to her and her husband as Nazis and definitions of the term.

I feel it’s a fair enough descriptor in this case,

Should Hazel just dust herself off and go again , of course she’ll be OK but she shouldn’t have to put up with it

Of course she shouldn’t have to but that’s the price of being in the public eye. It will benefit her anyway as it’s free publicity and paints her in asympathic light with the twiterrati.

Being subject to racism is the price of being in the public eye?

It is in America

The price of being in the public eye is people taking pot shots and trolling you for a variety of reasons. It’s part and parcel of the job especially for politicians. Leo gets dogs abuse do you get you knickers in a twist when people make snide comments about him? Mary Lou too. Some of the stuff said about Trump is beyond the pale. Same for the Healy Raes, Corbyn and on and on.

THE funny thing is Hazel is well able for it and uses it to her advantage. The thousands of people who saw her retweet and read about it are potential voters in the next election. It won’t do her any harm. Its free publicity. Meanwhile you’re melting down about the partner of someone who heads a party with a tiny membership who absolutely no power or influence. And you sound terrified of them. It’s laughable.

There wasn’t. Read it again slowly.

Are you saying that the husband might be a nazi but that doesn’t mean that the party that he founded and has led for almost 5 years should be referred to as a nazi party? You seem to be in fierce argumentative humour today.

No, if you read it slowly and carefully, I said repeatedly, in short, easy to understand words, that there is no such thing as “the Irish Nazi party”. Glas made it up.
If glas or you are so sure of yourselves, write a letter to the Irish times stating that this Barrett lad founded and has led the “Irish Nazi party” for five years, and his wife is a member.
See how you go.
