Tyrone 2018 - Happy to Work with British State-funded Operations

Three defenders called up for the new season.

Cahir McCullagh opted out for the season ahead.

Michael McKernan, Brendan Burns and Ciaran McLaughlin are the players called in. We’ve had a lack of genuine man markers in recent years so Burns and McKernan will certainly fit that bill. McLaughlin is a wing back but can play all across the defence.

Sean Cavanagh and Justy have retired, not sure whether Kieran McGeary will be involved as he is studying in Liverpool next year.

Three-time All-Ireland winner Stephen O’Neill has reunited with Mickey Harte and joined Tyrone’s management team for 2018.

The Gaelic Life reports that O’Neill, who turned 37 last Sunday, has come on board ahead of the Red Hands’ Dr McKenna Cup campaign which will commence on January 3rd.

The Clann nan Gael clubman served his county for 14 seasons, earning a host of accolades, including three All-Ireland crowns, five Ulster championships and a pair of National League titles. He also picked up three All Star awards during his inter-county career.

O’Neill’s decision to come on board makes him the third member of his county’s successful ‘noughties’ side to join Harte, with Peter Donnelly and Gavin Devlin both having recently committed again to working under the long-serving supremo.

The former players seem to love Mickey.

It says alot about the man.
