U-21 Hurling 2018

Some finish. Unreal score from O Connor and then Galway go down and get the goal to win it. Great game. Congrats to the Galway lads

Fucking hell

Those 3 bad wides after 14 mins of Extra Time come back to haunt us badly. Galway will always have a lug in full forward who’s capable of doing something like that.

What a turnaround by GY for 2nd period of ET May I add. They looked goosed. That panel has a seriously good attitude to come back again after what that fuckwit did in normal time.

Great game. 2 teams who would not die. Not the first time Galway have rescued a Leinster Championship

Cork v GY Final will be immense.

Big Tony Ward looks like a man who will enjoy his snack box in Moneygall on the way home.

Hard luck @Bandage. You will come back from this stronger than ever

Unreal end to it.

Congrats to Galway, the dominant force in Leinster hurling yet again.

A sweet act of vengeance against a true Tipp bastard of a ref

We had plenty of men back there at the end, but I don’t think you could put the blame on anyone. The chap took it very sharply in fairness to him. We have some quality young hurlers, and those last two points by the O’Connor cousins were sensational, but it’d be nice to win the odd cup.

August Bank Holiday weekend for the semi-finals.

Cork v Wexford
Galway v Tipp.

Rory missed 2 score able frees which cost in the end. He was out on his feet tbf but still scored a beauty from play from distance.
Free taking needs to be addressed in Wexford.

We haven’t had a truly reliable free taker that wasn’t overweight in my lifetime

The Galway keeper must be a bit dim. Repeatedly stepping outside the small rectangle after being pinged for it twice.

Yeah I think it’s more the set up. I’m a firm believer of situation type practice. If a team needs a goal, they’ll lob it in. 3 or 4 lads going up for a ball and leaving opponents free is not clever. It’s late, tired bodies, but if you train for those type of moments you should know how to defend it. Casey was missed for his free taking. I thought Rory would be the answer long term for frees, but as the year has gone on, I’m doubting that more and more.

We went away from the short passing and possession game to driving it long and aimlessly and shooting from ridiculous angles and distances. Small things, but the different between winning those cups and not.

At least they get a second chance, even though it’s a real sickener losing like that they are in a better place than Tipp morale wise going into the Semi Final.

Double header in…??

Portlaoise again I reckon.
