Wan bissaka also in the squad the full back had a decent season with palace.
If they get the balance right and have a bit of luck they could go far in the competition.
France also have a very strong squad and are a favourite for the tournament before a ball is kicked.
Italy are strong also a dark to horse to look out for is Poland 1ho have beaten Belgium and do not look like push overs.

Just looking at the France squad. Is football really just popular with the African immigrants to France or is it just that the crackers are shit compared to them. Only 3 of the 22 outfield players in the squad are white. Is it reflective of changing demographics or is it just that black players are better genetically equipped for the modern game?
It’s been going on a long time at this stage really? Who is the last great French player not of Arab or African heritage? Ribery maybe but there’s not many. The amount of professtional African/Arab footballers born in France is amazing really. Some national teams in Africa are almost primarily made up of French born players
But 19/22? That’s 86% of the outfield players.
How big is the first or second generation African population in France?
Is football just not popular with the indigenous French population or is it just that Africans are way better?
The Dutch would have a fairly big African population but the milk bottles are still probably majority represented in their national team.
I would assume the old line of escaping poverty would hold true . Some of the schemes on the periphera of Paris are utter hellholes
I am not sure that soccer traditionally was ever that huge with the Gallic man . Rugby huge in the south and cycling was always massive .

I was in rural France for the 2006 World Cup Final. You wouldn’t even know a game was on. The Limerick roasters on tour ended up huddled around a 20 inch TV propped up on a chair outside a cafe while the bemused locals went about their business.

Sounds like French Eddy wasn’t up to much again, yes he scored a few for Celtic but his all round play was well down this year (team was shite as well obviously). Long covid possibly a factor?
