Walked 10km early this morning, from the top of Dunmore East to Rathmoylan and back and a dip for good measure as well in Portally.
He’s rarin to go again now.

That’s a very impressive ‘lift’ there from Marquinhos cc @MogwaiC86
I don’t know what to make of that. It was a really shite match. Although I’ve enjoyed watching PSG’s football over the past while, they’re essentially a sportswashing, state-owned, disgustingly obscene freak show & some head chopping cunt is now out on the pitch taking kudos.
On the other hand I’ve always had a healthy respect for the Arsenal. I was a great fan of Sir Chips Keswick particularly but also had great time for the likes of David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood & Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith. But that’s eye-wateringly, excruciatingly terrible football to inflict on people devised & overseen by a Lego head hun bastard. Playing crude long ball stuff with your EPL billions is like having money to dine in the world’s finest restaurants but instead eating buckets of your own shit.
I had assumed a 7:45pm kick off (I still haven’t adapted to the change to 8pm). Sadly I momentarily flicked out of Kerry v Tyrone in the Under 21 final and saw the Champions League thread bumped at about 5:13pm and that’s how I became aware the game was on.
Two days before Liverpool played Arsenal at Highbury in the opening game of the 1987/88 season, I asked my Monaghan granny, who I was on a trip to London with, if she’d bring me to see Highbury Stadium. Because she was a complete legend and the greatest person in the history of the world, she happily agreed, and that evening we got the Piccadilly Line to Arsenal station and walked around the corner to the stadium. In her ridiculous over the top Monaghan voice, she called out loudly around the apparently closed stadium, and a gentleman heard this and opened a gate. This gentleman was a very nice gentleman and told us to come on in, and we stood at the corner of the old Clock End and one the Marble halled stands. He didn’t even object when my granny blabbed that I was a Liverpool supporter. I thought this was very nice of him.
I’m sorry for that gentleman. But clearly he’s dead by now, so my sympathy isn’t applicable.
The late poster @Sidney coincidentally had a very similar experience to myself. It might even have been the same gentleman that let each of us in.
@Sidney even gave Finn McRagebait the idea for her article.
It’s nothing personal or inherent against Arsenal.
It’s just that their current brand of football is an utter obscenity.
I recall Walter Smith’s Rangers anti-footballing their way to the 2008 UEFA Cup final. That was hateful too. On Wednesday May 14th, 2008, I was doing the final exam for a bullshit one year part time evening course at a fake college in Aungier Street. It was a very sunny day and a good few of us, ie the whole class, went drinking afterwards. We got sunburnt drinking cans outside the Pav. Then by 7:45pm and the kick off of Rangers v Zenit Leningrad in the UEFA Cup final, we were still drinking, in McDaids. I don’t think McDaids had a telly and I had to keep nipping, or stumbling across through increasingly drunken hazes to Bruxelles to see the score in the football. With about 70 minutes gone and the score at 0-0 a few of us migrated across to the upstairs bar in Bruxelles, and within a few minutes the Russians scored and the place went mad. They scored again late on as I viewed through an increasing haze. Later on the Fenian chants started. There were implorations for Nacho Novo to die in his sleep, which we didn’t really mean. The bastards had got their comeuppance.
I never saw any of those people ever again after that night.
But regarding Rangers, you would have had a grudging admiration. The SPL was a financial backwater. Rangers had been consistently unsuccessful in Europe for years. You UNDERSTOOD why Rangers would try to anti-fooball their way to European glory. You respected Walter Smith as a great football man. The following morning Walter Smith went to Celtic Park to pay his respects to Tommy Burns. And he meant it. That was the measure of the man.
Arsenal are the Bank Of England club. A filthy rich institution in the most fashionable area of Europe’s most fashionable city in Europe’s richest league.
And they choose to play like that. It isn’t shit on a stick, it’s an entire sewage treatment plant on a stick. And the sewage treatment plant is broken down. It’s a fetid, noxious, poisonous, sewage plant on a stick.
And former Rangers and Everton man Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are the apex of the culture of empty corporate communication that has taken over our lives. Motivational memes. Inspirational quotes. Pickpocketing games. Zionist YouTubers producing officially approved club CONTENT. Toe curlingly awful “anthems”.
I’d support Walter Smith’s Rangers if they were playing former Rangers man Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, in a fucking heartbeat.
That was some scutter of an article in the Paper of Record the other day.
I believe her Dad is an avid Arsenal fan.
Raya made one very good save but then he committed ridiculously early on the final PSG penalty and left most of the goal open. It was bizarre goalkeeping. I suppose you could argue there’s a logic in that if a player has made up his mind to go one way and it’s the way the goalkeeper goes it increases the chance of a save or if the player changes his mind at the last second he could botch the penalty altogether but as it was it just looked almost like a surrender.
That’s 1 win from 7 European Finals for Woolwich now, the 1994 Cup Winners Cup Final win over Parma.
By way of comparative, Tottenham Hotspur have won 4 out of 6 European finals.
In London alone, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic have all won a European trophy this decade. I made the last one up but it’s still true.
Outside of London, since Arsenal last won a European trophy, Liverpool, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Notts County have all won at least one European trophy.
Madueke didn’t seem as keen on taking a penality tonight
He kind of shuttled, half jogged across to the other side of the goal when yer man was still a couple of steps away from striking the ball. It looked very strange. As shit as the PSG keeper was in the shoot-out, he managed to stay still enough long enough (before eventually plonking forward on his knees) while Eze was waiting for him to commit. He could perhaps take some dubious credit for waiting it out to put Eze off.
Arsenal’s First Team Strength and Conditioning Coach (or fitness coach as I’d call it) is Mayo’s Barry Solan.
Yet another Mayo final defeat.
Out all day. Looking, I’d be disposed towards Arsenal but you can’t get the job done with that forward line as was pointed out by many posters over the piece.
Funnily enough if Timber or White was right, they might have gotten away with it.
PSG probably aren’t a juggernaut either looking at it.
A disappointing night in a non-vintage year. Seeing the Georgian and Dembele go off…and same…
