Who cares Balbec, we should be rejoining. These morons are going to give the Tories 40%+ of the vote at the next GE, it’s absolutely beautiful.
The trade union members don’t even think they have a chance with Corbyn but the social media squad think they’re going to “change” Britain. They are polling dreadfully.
I think it’s gas the way they talk about new Politics and rejecting the “branding”/“PR spin” of New Labour, when Corbyn is built on 20 and 30 something millennials buying into a social media campaign.
I supported Bernie Sanders, mate. I would only support Clinton in preference to Trump or any Republican.
What’s happening in the UK and the US is a useful exercise in identifying who the splitters and the pathetic toys out of the pram merchants are. In the US, Sanders has united behind Clinton, in the UK there was no split in Labour even under Blair when many Labour people despised him, now we see who the people willing to destroy the party are when a real Labour person leads it - predictably, it’s the democracy-subverting Blairites.
You are using Angela Eagle’s pro Iraq War record against her, despite Donald being anti Iraq War and really anti US interventionism (as a sole party).
Btw Sid, you might have missed it in your googling and social media research over Eagle, but she is not a “Blairite”. In fact Tony forgot she existed once upon a time and dropped her from his junior ministries as a result.
She is a Blairite, mate. Her weak denial (incidentally in a car crash interview where she couldn’t name a single thing she’d do differently from Corbyn) doesn’t really cut the mustard as regards making people forget her voting record. Voted for the Iraq War, voted continuously against any inquiry, voted to bomb Syria, voted for university tuition fees and to increase them, abstained on welfare cuts. That’s a proper Blairite voting record. Tom Watson is of course another Blairite, despite your frantic and rather hilarious protestations.
Trump didn’t oppose the Iraq War. That’s a nice little lie he’s come out with of late.
He supported it.
Trump isn’t anti-US interventionism. He stated he wants to re-invade Iraq and invade Syria.
Donald Trump is anti US intervention where they are the sole or significant entrant (please learn to read Sid). He wants NATO members to all put in their fair share. A repudiation of neocon foreign policy is far more popular in America and part of his success.
Anyway, regarding Eagle, she isn’t a threat either. So shit happens.
Whether he supported it or not is irrelevant, he had no say in the decision. Unlike Hillary who voted to wage an illegal war based on lies.
Trump wasn’t and isn’t a politician, he has learned however that lying is a prerequisite for the job, but his delivery is amateurish compared to seasoned liars like Hillary. Listen to Hillary lying about her “lifelong” support of same sex marriage, she’s almost believable.
Trump is in the halfpenny place on the lying stakes compared to her. She learned well listening to Bill’s lies for forty years.
Of course it’s relevant, he’s the one that made it an issue. To then claim it’s not an issue when he’s been shown to lie about it and it’s a major and regular claim made by his supporters is truly bizarre.
Clinton has been proven to be far more honest in her statements on the campaign, mate. Trump has been proven to be the biggest liar of any candidate. I’m surprised at you for not knowing this as you’ve often said you’re informed and I’m not.
As I said Clinton is a politician unlike Trump so she’s a more seasoned liar. You should read the article you post before you post it, it only factchecks statements made since the campaign started. Clinton has been very careful compared to Trump during the campaign. It’s all the lies and flip flopping before the campaign that will bite her.
Sidney - I appreciate the detailed ranting against Blairism and so on. I’m not sure it addresses my question though - is Corbyn plausibly electable as PM in any way or is it just a leftie Facebook feel good campaign and they’ll hand another 10 years to the Tories?
The Prime Minister is on his way to the Palace. One of the great Constitutional procedures. I will update this thread as required. Very sad that @tassoti is not around to enjoy this.
