I’ve never attended a winning of an ulster championship without busting at the seams with joy. Clones is a Coloseum of a cauldron, where warriors go to live, or die. Mark McHugh was in the latter category.
You clearly aren’t taking it seriously enough
Maybe we just havn’t won enough of them yet. Once we get to the enthusiasm levels shown by Kerry or Dublin on the steps after winning their respective provincials, can we cool the excitement levels a little.
It’s eminently sensible to ignore anything that “man” says.
Will we do it?
Yeah but then the British Exchequer wouldn’t be coughing up their share
We’ll blow them away in the 3rd quarter, probably fail to put them to the sword in the 4th and let them back in and we win with a tight enough finish. That may be the script.
You are dead right too. Sure iv a senior intercounty manager taking his club u10 side to us this weekend just so he can test his managerial skills against me ahead of some major championship games.
Those Kilcoo U10’s are something else I believe.
Ah I went to Dublin instead, currently in the emigration museum. Wasn’t in the mood for looking this morning. Cheers though
Ah that’s a pity. I’ve never been to an Ulster final involving Armagh* but I think of any county Armagh in an Ulster final bring that Ulster finalness. Up against Jimmy and Donegal and it’s as fine a recipe for a Clones cauldron as you could ask for.
*in Clones
Ulster teams all at sea today now they have left the calm waters of Ulster.
The demoralisation of getting knocked out of ulster after back to back titles, McKinless getting sent off after 20mins and only losing by four points to a Galway that have Comer and Walsh back ain’t that bad. Mickey Harte will know his job is on the line going into what will most likely be the preliminary quarter finals now and there’s nobody quite like him for that sting in the tail football.
Stick a few bob down on Jimmy winning Sam next year couple with a Gallen or McHugh POTY. Could be cash well spent.
I’m delighted to see Jimmy back and how he sets up a team. He’s one of the most astute managers we’ve seen. I’d not doubt he may win it again.
I think there are one or two strong teams in each province and then a big big gap.
Dublin, Kerry, Galway, Derry, Tyrone, Mayo, Donegal, Armagh.
One from both Leinster and Munster, three Northern teams and two from Connaght would make my current top 8.
Monaghan are fucked and Mayo have seriously regressed. If we make a quarter final this year, we’ll be delighted with the overall progress.
It’s more competitive than the hurling anyway.
I believe both codes go through those spells at that level.
